So, you are Iskar's hired hand? Well, I care not whether you are a <race> or an overgrown moth, so long as you are willing to help.

The Adherents of Rukhmar are closed-minded fools! They forbid the study of shadow magic, branding as heretics anyone who dares to seek answers in the dark.

We kept many tomes of forbidden knowledge in Veil Shadar. Bring any you find to me, and I will reward you for keeping them from the flames.

The titles of the books are all puns on popular "self-help" books:


  • Act Like A Crone, Think Like A Sage

  • Curses: A Practical Guide

  • The Art of Darkness

  • The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Hexxers

  • Eat, Scry, Love

There may be more, but a given title can appear in more than one location, and can be looted more than once to count towards the six you need for the quest. I think I ended up turning in three copies of The Art of Darkness just because I happened to keep finding them.

If you're having trouble finding the tomes, they look like small red books. They take a few minutes to respawn, so if you can't find any, it's likely that many have been looted already and you'll need to be patient.
