Note that standing in the fires around the Blazing Strand does not cause any damage and does not break stealth. The Unbound Fire Elementals will also take regular damage from fire spells. New players should try NOT to learn from this, as standing in fire is usually a rapid way to certain death and fire creatures often are immune or resistant to fire spells.
I believe you can get 2 of these per kill.. It seemed like it was working for me. When I was leveling my warlock I would hit the quest item a lot when the fire elemental was nearing death. I would sometimes be able to get 2 counts in one kill.

What to do
Description
With most of our brethren losing their way to madness or corruption, it would seem that we have little choice but to ally with you, {race}. You can count on our aid... once you've proven we can count on yours. As you can see, my people are having a bit of a problem with the fire elementals. Help fight them and use this totem on their fiery remains. We will return them to where they belong... whether they like it or not.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.
