You know... having done Darkshore in the past a few times, I always remember muttering, "Stupid Wildkin are EVERYWHERE" and killing them whenever they got in my way. Its like they were big pigeons.
How is it now, this quest can make me feel GUILTY about it!
My hat goes off to you Blizzard. You made me cry.

The feathers are scattered around on the ground. They can be a little hard to see, so just keep an eye out for the sparkle.
Just wanted to mention that you don't actually have to kill the spirits to get their feathers. That should assuage your guilt a little bit. The feathers are lying on the ground, mostly near trees and rocks, and they're hard to see, so I recommend zooming in like the poster above mentioned. It really helps.
This really is a sad quest. Reminds me a bit of Old Whitebark in Eversong. I felt like such a jerk after killing him.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Mutual Aid
With most of our brethren losing their way to madness or corruption, it would seem that we have little choice but to ally with you, <race>. You can count on our aid... once you've proven we can count on yours. As you can see, my people are having a bit of a problem with the fire elementals.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Calming the Earth
I would be neglecting my responsibility if I abandoned my post just now, with so many elementals out of control in the ruins. Let us deal with them first, before we see how we can aid Malfurion. What do you say, small one?
