Sadly, it appears that you don't get a special quest instance of the Maw for this quest, as you did with some of the other story quests that took place in the maw. Unfortunately, I already did all my dailies and rares in the Maw and had Eye of the Jailer 5, which led to me not being able to do this quest today.

Edit how I did it with Spoiler:

Spoiler
I just cheesed it, but it wasn't fun.

Run outside, autoattacked a mob someone was fighting, bursted my Assassin with one cooldown.
Watch the roleplay while sweating nervously at my growing debuff stacks.
After reaching first Tyrande, I had to hearthstone out, since I was at 10 stacks and combat started.
Go back in, run as fast as I could to Tyrande again, used my cooldowns to burst the imposter.
Managed to get to the next Tyrande at exactly 10 stacks, watched the roleplay, hoping for no further shenanigans, and hearthstoned to Dalaran.
Finally able to turn the quest in at Ve'nari's Refuge.
Thank god the next part was in Thorghast...

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Into the MawArdenweald · Level 60

I have not seen Tyrande since she departed for Icecrown... but I see her in my dreams. She stalks a nightmarish landscape, brimming with the might of the Night Warrior. Such power is too much for any mortal to bear for long. I shudder to think of the toll it has taken on my minn'do.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Sea of SoulsArdenweald · Level 60

Some force here seeks to keep us from finding Tyrande. The trail of bodies seems to go into this... stream of souls. I suggest we split up. I will follow along the bank of the river. You enter its current and follow the trail. Should you need me, I will be close at hand.
