Selfless Preservation

Selfless Preservation is a group quest for level 60 in Zereth Mortis. It is step 2 of 9 in The Final Song storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Zereth Mortis at 61.2, 37.7. It rewards 4,100 experience and money.

Description

The automa were once abundant here, singing, constructing various things, carrying out the purpose of the First Ones. Then, invaders from the Maw slaughtered them all.

The last automa to fall were protecting something important in a nearby structure.

I witnessed one of the cursed Mawsworn steal a device by the door. The Elders say we should not meddle with artifacts, but would it be a transgression to recover what was stolen?

If this isn't dropping for you, make sure you're not in a raid or party. I was losing my freaking mind killing him over and over again only for him to drop gold and trash items.

Left my party, abandoned the quest, picked it up again- Voila, dropped the orb.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Finding TahliZereth Mortis · Level 60

After eons of tranquility, the Maw's influence has brought sorrow to Zereth Mortis. One of our acolytes, Tahli, has found it particularly difficult to process recent events. She left some time ago and has not returned. Will you check on her?

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Junk's Not DeadZereth Mortis · Level 60

This automa has been hiding here! I suspect it will not be receptive to our help. I am hesitant to suggest this, but if the servitor were to associate you with this facility, it might be more amenable. If you have the means, copy the glyphs inscribed on similar automa outside.

The storyline at a glance

The Final Song has 9 steps, from Finding Tahli to Judgment Call.

Maps its steps are placed on (steps per map): Zereth Mortis (9).
