Speak with the Dead

Speak with the Dead is a Horde-only quest for level 50 in Nazjatar. It is step 5 of 9 in the Turning the Tide storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Nazjatar at 76.5, 29.9. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 6,800 experience and money.

Description

So many souls perished beneath the waves. Too many sacrificed for her ambition.

It is strange that the spirits here have not departed. I wonder if they even know they are dead?

Still, their knowledge might be useful to us. If you could question the spirits, they might be able to point us in the right direction.

Here is the information you learn from this quest, in case anyone else came trying to find it. The alliance equivalent of this quest is broken and the NPCs despawn before they can tell you anything.

What do you know of the Tidestone?
"The Tidestone? Truly a potent relic, capable of controlling the seas. It is capable of producing a powerful barrier that only the strongest of our magic can pierce. If you would like to study it, you may appeal to the scholars of Nar'thalas Academy, where it is located."

What is the strongest magic left in Zin'Azshari?
"Our glorious queen is the most powerful sorceress to have ever lived. Why, the Javelins alone could pierce nearly any ward, maybe even one she made. It is a good thing they are in her position then, is it not?" [I believe Blizzard meant 'possession.']

What do you know of the Javelins?
"Ah yes, they are quite the sight! A gift from our sister city, they possess power worthy to be bestowed to our queen. Nevertheless, she has no need for such paltry items. I believe she has bestowed them upon Lady Silaszi, one of her current favored handmaidens."

The NPC's needed for this quest are all around just north of the quest giver. They are neutral NPC's such as Highborne Magus, Highborne Noble, Highborne Guardian. Talking to them will either give you quest progress towards one of the 3 clues required, or they will turn hostile, in which case you may kill them and move on.

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Secrets of TelemancyNazjatar · Level 50

The nightborne are no strangers to this place. It was once our capital too, long ago. Before the Sundering and erecting the shield over Suramar we used to travel freely to Zin-Azshari. Oculeth had a workshop in these estates.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Handmaiden's TaleNazjatar · Level 50

The Javelins of Suramar! Wielded by Azshara herself, they contain immense magical power. She has always had a fondness for bestowing favors on her favorites, but I never suspected she would give one something so valuable as one of her Javelins. This foe must be formidable indeed.
