Dispelling Rumors

Dispelling Rumors is a quest for level 70-73 in Isle of Dorn. It is step 14 of 16 in the Merrix and Steelvein storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Isle of Dorn at 51.1, 33.7. It rewards 9,500 experience and money.

Description

Many of my peacekeepers have already caught wind of Ardgrin's sedition.

I am told some are losing faith in my integrity as Councilward, believing that I have been taking bribes from smugglers to bolster my own coffers.

I can provide proof that no such transactions have taken place--clearly--but we need to stop them from murmuring amongst themselves and giving the rumors power. Lies become truths through repetition.

If you find any discussing the matter, kindly disperse them.

I was 5/6 when someone next to me attacked the peacekeeper. I helped them but then couldn't complete the quest. I dropped it and started over but still didn't see the yellow dots. I realized afterwards that it was probably just the dots that were missing so I used my targeting macro to find them. (I keep the macro available and just change the target as needed).

If you are partied with a friend and performing this quest, there is a possible bug where if one of you finishes up faster than the other, the dwarf clusters will despawn and force either of you to pick up the quest again and restart from scratch.

    I do not know if Ardgrin merely intended to sabotage me or if he wanted to force a confrontation. Either way, a confrontation he will have. I believe this situation can be rectified peacefully, but I cannot do it as the Councilward. Steelvein has never appeared in the stone, but he must now.
