Scarab Scouting

Scarab Scouting is a quest for level 78-80 in Azj-Kahet. It is step 9 of 10 in the Rak-Ush storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Azj-Kahet at 75.1, 80.7. It rewards 10,600 experience and money.

Description

The stagshells are of the utmost importance to Anub'azal's war campaign. We have a keen sense of smell, but only the stagshells are able to seek out valuable Kaheti truffles.

The truffles are a key ingredient in several... explosive elixirs, as it were. If you desire details, Aromash can give you more.

Before the small patch they just released about an hour ago, at least the truffle piles showed up in the area but you couldn't click on them, but now they don't even show up anymore, lol. Tried abandoning the quest and picking it up again, nothing.

Edit: Was able to complete it today, thanks to Drognin for the update.

Stagshells aren't collecting anything from the soil, stuck 0/5. Not in a party. Abandoning and selecting a different stagshell, also didn't do anything.

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Oh, I'm sorry, did you think this was a one and done assignment? If you did, Vix'aron would gladly "show you the door", as it were. The stagshells will require constant maintenance. Food. Water. Those sorts of things.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Permanent HireAzj-Kahet · Level 78-80

Rak-Ush is beginning to look like a functioning swarmery. The role of delegation has suited me and Vix'aron well. You will continue to aid the niffen. In return, you may keep a portion of the wealth the swarmbeasts produce. Saffrin has more detailed plans around the development of the swarmery.
