This quest name reveals how little the developers understand science. Hunting fossils is paleontology; hunting the remains of human's (Orc, Tauren, etc.) past remains is archaeology.

To complete the quest you need to collect 50 [item=156597]s.
Use provided [item=156596] near the soil piles to unburrow the bones.
Large piles grant more fragments than the small ones, try to find them first.Archaeological Efficiency - www.youtube.com/watch?v=hyaoag_E6nU

What to do
Description
Miss Tae'shara and I share a passion for uncovering hidden secrets and a deep, abiding respect for this ancient land. That said! If we were to continue at the pace to which she is accustomed, the Alliance would overtake us before we could make a single discovery. It is time to expedite our survey. The ruins hide many fossils. Take a beacon and use it to summon one of my sweepers. It will clear away the topsoil and allow you to collect samples. Gather what you can- we can assemble them later.
Where to go
Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Scrying for the Eye
On behalf of the Horde we seek a relic called the Eye of Xibala. The locals have been no help whatsoever and Miss Tae'shara insists that we use her survey equipment. I abhor guesswork. Instead we shall use a more direct method: scrying. I will mark three locations on your map.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- A Nose for Magic
I have it! The readings from the ruins are unmistakable. Somewhere to the south and west of the ah... "foot", as it were, is a source of great magical energy. It can be nothing but the Eye of Xibala! We will need to place a few more scrying vessels to pinpoint the Eye's exact location.
