I had to kill the ones on the surface for quest credit, the ones down the hole just die on their own and you get no credit even if you tag them.

Typical Blizzard lazy quest coding. At least 50% of the quests in this expansion are "kill X spiders and come back to me."

What to do
Description
Please excuse my absence. It was never my intention to turn my back on the Stormriders, then or now. But I needed to come here and pay my respects to Baelgrim. Unfortunately, these blasted nerubians are still lingering. I think they're searching for something, but I don't know what. Whatever their reasons, I cannot abide them lurking where Baelgrim fell.
Where to go
Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Flight Training 103
These recruits seem tae be up for a challenge. Let's find them somethin' with a little bite! I saw a poor giant just off shore bein' pestered by a swarm of flying devils. Let's see if these rooks can shoot the wings off 'em an' provide some relief.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- The Edicts
Merrix and Adelgonn will be expecting an update. On my way here, I heard that they're all heading to the Proscenium to commit to the war officially. You should go and brief them on the readiness of the Stormriders. I'd like a moment with Zarein here. But we'll be along soon.
