Herbert instructs you to use Polymorph on Throg, which is what most people would probably do.
But if you Polymorph Herbert instead, Throg says that he knows this tactic and fills in the explanation.
When you hit Herbert to break him out of Polymorph, he says: "You're a loose cannon recruit. I'm impressed!"

I had to find out. So if you walk away and don't hit him. Just sit, relax, chill. He eventually comes out of his polymorph and says exactly what he does when you hit him. But you do get the satisfaction of being even more of a loose cannon than the game expected! =D
That is every comment on this page.

What to do
Description
I can't send you off without making sure you can cast Polymorph correctly. Why, if you messed it up you may transform someone into something completely different! I want to make sure I'm around to take notes if that happens. Let's see... ah, Throg will do nicely! I can spot a prime test subject from a mile away. Shall we begin?
Where to go
Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- A Mage's Knowledge
You've got some good spells for a novice mage. There are a few things holding you back, though. For instance, it's absolutely clear to me you don't know Polymorph. If you did, you would've been using it on the harpies that were attacking us! Let's fix that.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- A Monk's Focus
You fought well against the harpies, but you'll need even more skill to best the challenges ahead. We must meditate and focus if we are to gain more strength. Come. I know of a place we can go.
