The Hardest Part

The Hardest Part is a quest for level 80 in Isle of Dorn. It is step 2 of 11 in the Arcane Desolation storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Isle of Dorn at 29.6, 58.2. It rewards 11,750 experience and money.

Description

<Aethas sighs heavily, his voice tinged with sorrow.>

Dalaran... once a symbol of unity and arcane mastery, now reduced to rubble and ash. Again.

So much loss and so much pain. Friends and comrades gone in an instant, their voices silenced by Xal'atath.

<He takes a deep breath, steeling himself against the overwhelming grief.>

But now is the time for action--not grief. We must regroup with the remaining Kirin Tor.

However, the right words do not come easily.

The choices are what you feel the Kirin Tor's focus should be on going forward. If you're standing and looking at Aethas, from L-to-R;

Left: Sacrifice. The casualties not dying in vain.
Center: Duty. To Azeroth and magic, to rise again.
Right: Trauma. The well-being of the survivors, and safeguarding Dornegal from the crash site fallout

  • Survivor's GuiltIsle of Dorn · Level 80

    We have all suffered from Xal'atath's deeds, some more than others. I am glad to be alive, even if I now feel as old as I look. <Khadgar tries to laugh but coughs instead. He waves off your worry.> Don't worry about me. But Aethas... I've heard he went back to Dalaran's crash site.

After this quest

  • Arcane WastelandIsle of Dorn · Level 80

    Kirin Tor survivors have been hesitant to return to this area. A great deal of energy was dispelled before and after Dalaran's crash. An invisible yet tangible miasma lingers in the area for those who are sensitive to it.
