Ra-den the Despoiled

As he bravely fought to save the Chamber of Heart, Ra-den was pulled into Ny'alotha where he has fallen victim to N'Zoth's whispers. The despair he harbored for so long has overwhelmed the last of his hope, rendering his corruption complete. Now the former Highkeeper will stop at nothing to do the Old God's bidding.

Abilities & Strategy

Overview

Ra-den periodically draws Void and Vita Essence from other realms. Essences that reach Ra-den empower him with energy of that type. At 40% health, Ra-den begins drawling energy directly from these realms. This allows Ra-den to cast spells empowered by both energy types.

Maut

As the ancient aqir arose from the desert sands, their prophets set about the construction of an obsidian destroyer imbued with the essence of the Old Gods. Driven by an insatiable thirst for magic, Maut consumed the mana of its creators once it awoke and left their corpses to rot under the scorching sun of Uldum.

Abilities & Strategy

Overview

Maut gains mana by Devouring Magic, leaving behind magical voids of Devoured Abyss. Upon reaching full mana Maut becomes encased in Obsidian Skin and prepares to unleash Obsidian Shatter. When its cast completes or the mana shield is consumed, Maut will once again come alive to drain magic from its enemies.

Carapace of N'Zoth

At the center of Ny'alotha stands a dread mountain of flesh, teeming with eyes and tendrils of unfettered corruption. Madness itself seeps from the writhing mass, eroding the sanity of all who approach it. This is the heart of the Black Empire, N'Zoth's seat of power, the body of a god.

Abilities & Strategy

Overview

N'Zoth rallies his physical defenses, retreating deeper into his carapace at 50% and 40% health. Players' Sanity balances tenuously throughout the encounter. Wrathion allows players to utilize their Ashjra'kamas, Shroud of Resolve to recover from Wrathion's Anchor of Sanity. Losing all Sanity grants Gift of N'Zoth, then transforms a player into a Servant of N'Zoth. Players lose access to Wrathion's aid in the final stage.

Wrathion, the Black Emperor

Despite all his precautions, Wrathion could not avoid succumbing to the madness that claimed his father. With his mind twisted by N'Zoth, he believes that the only way he can truly defend Azeroth is to rule it in the Old God's name. A prince no longer, Wrathion now takes his rightful place as the Black Emperor.

Abilities & Strategy

Overview

Wrathion's Molten Eruptions unleash Molten Pools throughout the space, consuming 50 energy. When all his energy is depleted, Wrathion melds into the shadows and inflicts Burning Madness on enemies and transforms all Molten Pools into Crackling Shards. Abilities & Strategy

Overview

Drest'agath

The grotesque amalgam of flesh known as Drest'agath slumbered beneath Ny'alotha for millennia until being awakened by N'Zoth's return. Now she rises like a revolting boil, ready to burst and spread her vile pestilence across Azeroth.

Abilities & Strategy

Overview

Drest'agath's appendages burst through the floor and attack enemies who enter her lair. When appendages are destroyed, pools of Void Infused Ichor form around their corpse. Il'gynoth, Corruption Reborn

Following its defeat in the Emerald Nightmare, Il'gynoth retreated into the depths of Ny'alotha to regain its strength. Now it has fused with the city's architecture and spreads across the Black Empire like a creeping infestation. As Il'gynoth's corrupting flesh grows ever larger, so does its power.

Abilities & Strategy

Overview

The encounter begins with players facing off against Il'gynoth's reformed body in the center of the arena. Reducing Il'gynoth's health to 0 will cause him to retreat, opening chambers to his three Organs of Corruption while he reforms. Each Organ of Corruption spawns Bloods of Ny'alotha, but players can slow the blood flow with interrupt abilities. Defeating an Organ of Corruption will cause Il'gynoth to return with restored health. This cycle repeats until all three Organs of Corruption and Il'gynoth have all been defeated.

N'Zoth the Corruptor

From his titan-forged prison deep beneath the waves, N'Zoth spent eons subtly spreading his influence across Azeroth. Now free from captivity, the Corruptor reveals his true form as he enacts his ultimate plan to make his vision of the Black Empire our new reality. If he is not stopped, all we have ever known will be remade in the image of his eternal madness.

Abilities & Strategy

Overview

N'Zoth assaults players' bodies and minds across two separate realms, the physical realm and the Mind of N'Zoth. In the physical realm, N'Zoth defends himself with an array of fearsome tentacles and dominating psychic magic. Players are drawn into the Mind of N'Zoth by the Corruptor's Glimpse of Infinity or by entering a Mindgate. Within the Mind of N'Zoth awaits Psychus, the guardian of N'Zoth's thoughts, along with other denizens and visions conjured by the Corruptor. Slaying Psychus triggers Shattered Ego, making N'Zoth vulnerable for a window within the physical realm. To return to the physical realm, players must reach their lifeless bodies and Restore Consciousness. As players weaken N'Zoth, he casts Convergence, drawing the Chamber of Heart and Ny'alotha into dimensional alignment to fulfill his ultimate purpose.
